Getting money in, trading, and getting it out

Cash in by card, buy and sell in dollars, send out any time. One quick setup step.

Step 1: add cash

On the Wallet tab, press Add money. You can pay by debit or credit card, Google Pay, bank account, or transfer from an exchange like Coinbase. The money arrives in your own wallet as cash. On the blockchain that cash is a dollar coin called USDC; Viru just calls it cash.

Twenty dollars is plenty to start. Nothing on Viru requires a minimum.

Fees, in plain words

Every trade costs the network a few cents. On Base, Viru routes trades so that this fee is usually taken out of the cash you're trading, which means you don't need a separate fee coin. The exact amount is listed under "Fees and details" before you approve.

Some transactions do pay their fee in the network's own coin: sending a coin, the permission some coins need before they can be sold, and every trade on BNB Chain, which is paid in BNB. When your wallet has almost none of that coin, Viru can add the few cents the transaction needs right before you sign, within daily limits. When it can't, the screen says so and tells you how to add some.

Solana works differently: coins there (SOL, JUP, JTO and others) pay their fees in SOL. Viru pays a trade's fee when it can; a send, or a trade it can't cover, needs a little SOL in your wallet, and the screen says so and tells you how to add some.

Buying and selling

Open any coin from Markets and press Buy. Type an amount in dollars, read what you'll get, press Buy again, and approve in the window that pops up. Selling works the same way in reverse and puts the dollars back in your cash. BNB Chain has no cash on Viru, so Buy and Sell on its coins open Swap, where they trade against BNB.

Every fee is listed before you approve. Viru charges nothing; what you see goes to the network and to 0x or Jupiter, the service that finds the trade.

Taking money out

Wallet → Withdraw sends cash or any coin to another wallet's address on the same network. Check the address on the review screen: transfers can't be undone, and money sent on the wrong network is lost. Sending to an exchange account works too; the exchange shows you its address and network.

About these extra steps

You're using the early web version of Viru. The fee coin and the choice of network exist because the blockchain works that way, not because Viru wants them. In the official Viru app these steps will be handled for you.

Education only. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell anything.
